We're very excited to let you all know that
Unofficial in Chicago 2011 is being planned as we speak... and it all started off with our first 'business' meeting of the year at
Blokes and Birds.
B&B is in our
Lakeview 'hood, it's a new bar and there's a mustache on the front door... so we were in.
We went on a Wednesday, which meant a 'nip' and a pint for $5. I didn't know what this meant either, but it's basically a half-shot of whiskey and a decent beer served on it's own platter. And cheap!
Side note - one of us did not wanted to be seated in the downstairs section because she was convinced that sitting in a confined room with no windows would guarantee a more festive time than she wanted to enjoy on a work night.
Naturally, we were seated downstairs. She was right.
...Has anyone else checked the English-style pub out? Did you dig it?
